Coronation Table Styling

Embrace your inner sovereignty and gather your favourite people for what's set to be the biggest event of 2023....The Coronation of King Charles III!

The Ceremony will see His Majesty The King crowned alongside The Queen Consort. Whilst the proceedings will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, they will be rooted in longstanding British tradition and pageantry.

This momentous occasion presents the perfect opportunity to unleash your creativity and gather your loved ones to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

To help you lay a table fit for royalty, we've designed a modern-meets-vintage look that's easy-to-replicate in a traditional red, white & blue palette. Add our no-fuss decorations and quick & simple dishes, and you'll be ready to host an unforgettable Coronation party in decadent style!

HOW TO LAY YOUR TABLE

 1. Create your personalised place settings

These personalised napkin holders are super easy to make - you could even get the kids involved for some pre-party fun.

You'll need:

  • Some cardboard - old Amazon packets/boxes are perfect!
  • Gold/bronze paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Chalk pen
  • Some adhesive fake pearls, diamonds or glittery stickers (Amazon & Etsy have a great selection)
  1. Cut out strips of cardboard measuring roughly 20cms long x 12cms wide. Prepare one for each of your guests.
  2. Cut about 6 zig-zag shapes along one long edge of your cardboard strips (you're aiming for a crown shape once the napkin ring gets folded).
  3. Paint one side of the cardboard in your colour of choice - gold, bronze, blue or silver are all great choices! Leave aside to dry.
  4. Once completely dry, fold your short edges together to make your crown. Fasten in place with a stapler or some glue (if using glue, be sure to let this dry before adding your finishing touches).
  5. Use a chalk pen to personalise your mini-crowns with your guests names, and adorn the tips of the zig-zagged edges with some fake pearls or something similarly sparkly!

 2. Set your royal table

When it comes to the Coronation, the sky really is the limit with what you can create. It's up to you what colours you'd like to choose, but we opted for a traditional British palette by pairing our classic blue English vintage crockery with bright red seasonal summer flowers.

Get the look:

Create eye-catching contrast by layering our Midnight Blue Charger Plates with our delicate Blue Vintage Dinner Plates. Top with our Baroque-style Cream Shell Bread Plates for an ornate finish, and bring out the beautiful patterns on this pretty plate with a gold or sandy-coloured linen napkin.

Pair with our stunning Jewel range of wine glasses and tumblers in Ocean and Sapphire, and complete the look with our eclectic Vintage Cutlery.

Use our beautiful Blue Glass Bowls to dress your table with a variety of traditional decorations - think mini British flags, golden crowns and coins - and scatter a few pieces loosely around your place settings for an extra layer of texture. Amazon and Etsy are great places to hunt for budget party decorations.

Don't forget to pop your napkins into your finished personalised rings before your guests arrive. You could even add a dress-up crown or tiara to each plate to really get everyone in the royal spirit!

 3. Finish with florals

You can't have a coronation table without a burst of colour in the form of beautiful Summer flowers! We chose deep red carnations and roses, but you could even use purple since this colour is associated with royalty.

Make them pop by displaying them in our Electric Blue Vintage Bottles.
