The Shabbat Spread

Shabbat is a time for bringing together family and friends, so naturally I want the food I make to be simple and easy to share.

My Baba Ganoush & Roasted Cauliflower Hummus recipes are exactly that - stress free to pull together and perfect for sharing with friends and loved ones.

HOW TO LAY YOUR TABLE

Create a modern take on an old tradition by laying your table with a natural yet warming colour palette, mixing different textures and colour tones. I layered these place settings by mixing our Ivory Braid and Marshmallow Plates, added our Ruby Jewel tumblers for a pop of colour, and completed the look with our Blush Napkins and charming Rose gold Cutlery.

Place your challah in the centre on a wooden board, and place everything else, including your delicious dips, in your favourite serving bowls so your guests can help themselves.

An additional treat that's easy to whip up the next day is egg mayonnaise sarnies - use leftover egg mayo, with sliced challah and add some sliced radish and lettuce.

You might also add some smaller bowls of spices, salads and pomegranate seeds and dot those around the table.

Finish up by adding your favourite fresh flowers and lighting some candles. Peonies are a great choice for evoking feelings of love and togetherness, and I like to use our shiny golden candle holders to add a little sparkle.
