Lebanese Orange and Almond Chicken


4 chick legs

4 chicken thighs

1/2 tsp garlic salt

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp pepper

4 tbsp Shawarma spice mix

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp honey 

1 orange 

1 tbsp mayonnaise

2 tbsp ground almonds


Find a baking dish that will hold all 8 pieces of chicken. Take all of the ingredients EXCEPT for the orange and the chicken pieces and mix in the baking dish. Squeeze one half of the orange into the mixture. You can then add the chicken pieces. Massage the sauce into the meat and allow it to marinate for a few hours or, even better, overnight.

Heat the oven to 180C and cook for 50-60 minutes. After cooking it for around 30 mins, slice the other half of the orange and add to the dish and continue to cook until the chicken comes away from the bone easily.

This is absolutely delicious with roast potatoes and a green salad.
