Christmas Table Styling: Pink & Green
It's the most wonderful time of of the year, but all that delicious Christmas food is nothing without the perfect table setting. If you're looking for some Christmas styling inspiration with a girly twist, this table is for you.
The TSK team felt inspired to swap the traditional Christmassy red for a more dramatic pink this year. After doing lots of research including a recent trip to Selfridges to find they had created something similar, we were happy to see we were right on trend for the winter season!
This year is all about pinks and greens, and we've kept the look elegant, stylish and simple to recreate.
HOW TO SET YOUR CHRISTMAS TABLE
1. LAY YOUR PLACE SETTINGS
Start by picking out a festive tablecloth or go plain if you prefer; I personally love bold prints like the one shown here. Stack varied sizes of plates on each place setting to create depth, texture and interest - this is a great way to bring through different shades of pink and green. I used our delicate Pink Marble Dinner Plate as a base and topped with a selection of our pink and green vintage crockery to create four layers for different courses.
Another fun way to play with colour is via little details like the handles of cutlery or some pretty napkins. We used our gorgeous Candy Icon and Sage Shimmer cutlery collections, and both our Light Pink and Fuchsia Arabesque napkins are perfect for this look.
For a fun touch of effortless elegance, mix and match your water and wine glasses too. I paired our beautiful Fuchsia Stem wine glasses and classic Pink wine glasses with our Petrol Bubble ones to add a different shade of green, alongside our cute Pink Jazz tumbler.
2. DRESS THE TABLE FOR CHRISTMAS
Because Christmas usually involves so much interesting food, it's okay to keep your centerpiece simple. We opted for bunches of fresh red grapes on pretty vintage platters, but you could choose any seasonal fruit that takes your fancy.
You could also pop some simple fir tree, holly or fern cuttings along the middle of the table for a wintery feel. Arrange little mis-matching bowls of chestnuts around the table, and feel free to be as creative as you like with the bowls and plates you choose for this.
To really highlight that gorgeous pink part of the theme, we scattered some beautiful deep pink & red rose petals all along the table and around each of the place settings.
3. DON'T FORGET THOSE FESTIVE FINISHING TOUCHES!
A Christmas table isn't complete without candles so feel free to use as many as you like! I love combining these traditional Gold Candle Holders with more modern tealight style holders like this one.
For pops of colour and to bring those greens and pinks through again, use a mixture of satin and textured ribbons to tie your napkins, crackers and even your cutlery together.
Don't be afraid of using some of the cuttings from your centrepiece or using herbs like rosemary as a final finishing touch. Tuck a sprig inside your guests napkins or simply add them to the top plate of each place setting.
