Autumn Table Styling Inspo
Autumn has so much beautiful symbolism for me. From gathering the harvest of Summer to embracing the winds of change as we prepare for Winter, I Iove bringing all of that inspiration into my table designs.
I adore the new colours & flavours I get to play with at this time of year. All those gorgeous reds, oranges and yellows outside in nature are reflected in all the brand new delicious seasonal produce we can finally tuck into!
This stunning yet simple & rustic table design celebrates all of these aspects and will help you create the perfect setting for your next Autumn dinner date.
HOW TO SET YOUR TABLE
1. LAY YOUR PLACE SETTINGS
Over the top of a neutral tablecloth or plain wooden table, start by mixing and matching some textured plates to create interest. Autumn has such a rich colour palette to choose from but I opted for neutral creams paired with burnt oranges and deep browns. I layered four different plates here for a truly unique look - our Magnolia Stoneware Charger, our Autumn Garland Dinner Plate, our Cream Grace Dessert Plate, and finally our Ivory Braid Bread Plate. Brightly coloured napkins are a great way to add a burst of colour, like the orange ones seen here, which pair beautifully with our Tortoiseshell Cutlery Collection. Our Amber Jewel wine glasses and Copper Jewel Tumblers were also the perfect way to add effortless elegance to this look.
2. CREATE YOUR CENTREPIECE
This is a chance to really make your Autumnal theme come to life by bringing the outside in. Have fun decorating the middle of your table with gorgeous fresh herbs or your favourite cuttings of green leaves and flowers. I wanted to contrast the orange and brown hues I used with the cutlery, napkins and plates by going for plenty of greenery and used a mixture of ceramic bottles and small vases to arrange them. I also added little bowls of olives and scattered some fresh red apples along the table. Feel free to make this your own by playing with any of your other favourite seasonal fruits and veggies like pears, grapes, aubergines or squashes.
3. ADD YOUR FINISHING TOUCHES
In keeping with the rustic theme, I added a fresh seasonal pear to each place setting (you could add an apple or another fruit or veggie of your choice though, or even use ornamental fruit if you prefer). Then I made some cute little place names by printing my guests names on an A4 sheet of quilling paper (origami paper is also great for this), cutting them off neatly in strips, and then curling the paper strips with a pair of scissors (you could also hand-write these if you're in a rush or don't have a printer). Arrange the curled paper strips around the pears and adjust them so that each name can be seen. Don't forget to light some candles (placing some in textured, coloured glasses or small tealight holders creates an even prettier lighting effect) and pop on your favourite playlist before everyone arrives!
