As much as I love chocolate, it’s sometimes fun to twist tradition. Here are a few simple, easy yet effective ways that you can bring Easter to your table, without saying the C word!

EGGSHELL VASES

This is such a simple, but charming idea. Soft boil your eggs for 3-4 minutes and chop off the top with a teaspoon. Remove the egg (and eat for breakfast!). Cut your flowers and greenery to the correct height and present them in the egg shells, with the tiniest bit of water.

EASTER BALLOONS

All you need for are a couple of balloons, a carton of eggs and paint or dye, to brighten the egg shells. You can put these outside, if the wind allows, or along the centre line of your table.

Use a hand painted egg to show your guests where to sit. Cooking it beforehand and including it as part of the meal could be fun. Perhaps, you can ask your guests to crack open the egg and add it to their salad!
