River Island Kids Launch with Silver + Lux
Ahead of River Island’s exclusive launch of their kids wear partnering with Silver + Lux, I was asked to style a food display which the kids would love. I couldn’t wait to wait to style the display and included all my favourite props and sweet treats.
Too Sweet to Eat
If there’s one thing that kids love most and that’s sweets. The display featured an abundance of tuck shop sweets including love hearts, milk bottles and iced gems. I remember eating ice gems as a child, I used to bite off the icing first, then eat the biscuit bottom.
I also featured a rainbow cake from Hummingbird Bakery, I LOVE their rainbow cakes, they’re impeccably made, very tasty and they look amazing too. I also made my chocolate chiffon cake which served as a birthday cake for one of the children.
The milkshake stand went down a storm. I decorated a three-tiered cake stand with chocolate, banana and strawberry milkshake bottles, all topped with fresh dinky doughnuts. We refilled these 3 times because the adults couldn’t resist either.
It was important for me to add a touch of nostalgia for the adults too. I offered brown paper bags for the adults to take home. They could scoop a selection of their tuck shop sweets into their bags and take them home for later. The kids also had takeaway bags, these were unicorn themed could be filled to the brim with take-home treats.
